A Walk Along the Falls

Imagine a beautiful day surrounded by colorful foliage, soothing sounds and an abundance of wildlife. A Laker strolls down the “Black Birch Trail” from the old High School (now Briarcliff). The Lakers stops for a picnic at a table that stands by a meandering stream, then continues to walk through the undeveloped wooded area towards Powerville.

You can take that same walk today, still noticing the Birches, Tulips and Oaks that create the spectacular array of color that our past Lakers arranged for us. Meander through the many cut throughs that take you through the Falls neighborhood where Lakers blend with newer homes in the balance of nature.

You can frequently spot our friend the Buck making his way from the Falls, finding his way down Wilcox to Powerville and Morris. He makes his way to nibble on the many gardens in the area before escaping back to the woods or running along side the railroad tracks.
