Lydia Marshall celebrates with her family!

September 18, 2011 – The Children’s Art Contest was a terrific display of art by young Laker artists. Ten pieces of art were selected to show at the s.h.e. gallery, 819 Main Street, Boonton, for the weekend.

Many of Mountain Lakes’ early residents were artists, and we have a long history of promoting artistic endeavors and sharing artistic expression in town. As part of the Centennial celebration, we are continuing the tradition with the Children’s Art Show. The theme was ‘What Mountain Lakes Means to Me.” The contest was open to all Lakes ages 5-11.

The artists were treated to a bountiful reception at the s.h.e. gallery on Sunday afternoon. They were joined by friends and family for viewing and refreshments. s.h.e.Gallery curator, Kim Saunders awarded the best in show was to Lydia Marshall for her sculpture titled “Nature.” The artists with works in the show were: Annie Borin, Daniel Cinnamond, Evan Cinnamond, Will Cinnamond, Horowitz, Emma Lenthe, Lydia Marshall, Vera Marshall, Robert John Miller, and Sandhya Rajagopalan.
